IRL

As we record every throwaway detail online in blogs and social networks I decided to record the users of these platforms in a more permanent medium- 35mm film. Moments of instantly forgotten net browsing captured on cellulose.

Hopefully there will be more where these came from.

A "mens" magazine shot entirely in film and poloroids, and nothing is retouched.
I think this is my dream job, taking pictures of girls on sunny days. Honestly mum, I'm not gay.
Anyway read the article in Platform because they're probably better writers than me.

Cameras.

Okay this is getting mildly obsessive. I have rolls of undeveloped 35mm, 120mm and 126 film, cameras I may never use but still I want more...Just for the sake of having them right?

My latest thing is multilens cameras. However it seems only lomography do them, which is probably out of my price range and everyone knows lomo is for hipsters.

There are others but they're hard to track down unless you buy from China...Well anyway, with regards to my previous post, I'm kinda interested in photographic repetitive pattern and these are a sort of organic way of doing it. Sure I can use photoshop but I always feel like I'm cheating. Is buying new cameras  just an excuse for consumerism? Probably, but then again I've just found a job lot of 35mm cameras for a reasonable price. NOM.

Light Leaks

These spectral occurrences are caused by flaws in a film past it's expiration date or the undeveloped film being exposed to light.

Or sometimes the camera decides not to fully load the film and this happens

I still have more photos to scan, from my canon slr, my new scanner is rather temperamental but hey, it works...

Things to come...

After waiting an hour to get my photos printed at the so called "20 Minute" Max Spielman I went to scan my prints and got kicked out of the computer room (apparently 4.30 is late). So I decided to invest in a flatbed scanner of my own. Twenty quid, holla. I'm the queen of eBay bargin hunting if I do say so myself.
Anyway here are a few of the photos I began to scan, there are three rolls, dating back to February and documenting an eventful few months (although if I'm honest it's mostly buildings and trees, they're less argumentative).

From Prague. Lovely grim Eastern Europe.

This Evening

I'm not a summer person, although it provides for some excellent photo opportunities, I can't stand the heat for long. Don't want to get a tan, imagine!

More are on my flickr, if you care to click over there. Back to Stoke tomorrow and the hope that my new moleskine will have arrived.

Here Comes The Sun

Now I've finished all my work for uni I plan to spend a lot more time taking photos.

I've been looking a lot into photo editing (more than usual). The reason I sometimes wish I took photography is because I want to learn how to get "effects".
I think what I'm going for at the moment is this sun drenched summer feeling, that kinda Virgin Suicides vibe...

I'm seriously contemplating getting some naff 70's dresses for summer.

Spring?

Every time I leave the house I check the trees for green buds...not literally, but I have a quick glance. Spring is definitely here.

So I Am A Hypocrite

I found the missing piece of my Diana and put film in it. Although it is yet to be seen whether the 120 prints will be as disappointing as the 35mm ones.
I currently have about 6 rolls of 35mm film hanging around my room. Most I am too scared to develop because I have no idea what's on them.
Oh the joys of retrospectively living in the pre-digital age.

Cheaply Made, Overpriced Hipster Shit.

I'm sorry, lo-fi camera fans but you know it's true. I went to the IMMENSE effort of buying 120mm film for my Diana F and I realise I'm missing an important piece of crap for it.
Don't get me wrong, I love the aesthetic of Diana photos but they're so overpriced and badly made and basically marketed as a fashion accessory for girls who shop in UO...

I still love film photography mind, I've just lost faith in hipster cameras. A good thing maybe? My eBay focus free camera did me proud (although the photos are yet to be developed) in Prague last week, and that was 10% of the price of a Diana.

Oh well. Prague stuff soon, when I can motivate myself to photoshop things.
