Barmecidal Projects

"Barmecidal Projects Gallery is an entirely digital 3D gallery. The goal of BPG is to place immaterial artworks within the more phenomenological context of a gallery space and to curate them within the digital realm.
Our objective is to bring together artists working in digital and immaterial forms. Digitally created works existing in the space are rendered in high-gloss, hyperrealistic fashion. Having these objects exist in the gallery space further blurs the boundaries between the Real and representation; the works will be so shiny and irresistible by virtue of their digital nature that they will supersede reality."

Hey how are you?

I always find new year is a massive let down. Lest we forget January 1st is only one "New year" in one of many systems of organised dates, but maybe I'm pissed cos I never get kissed at midnight.

What have I been doing? Sleeping, listening to New Order a lot, playing warcraft, making stuff. Today I went to print out some photos from an exhibition and my printer decides to break. I'm not sure why I should print out everything I do and put it in a sketchbook when it's easily archived online but I don't want to fail now.

Anyway here is some stuff I have done over the festive period,  make your own connections and meanings etc

Transitional Period.

Wanted to make a gif to show how I'm feeling but I got distracted and made these instead


In my head it was like that shitty screenwipe that's kinda wavy that often signifies a dream or drug use but I just did this and ran with it. Seems obvious to me, the top one is that headache where your heart is beating in your brain and the second is when you can feel it in your eyes. I didn't really intend to do that but I've had a lot of headaches lately.



Almost everything is packed but I'm so scared of everything. I might have to lock myself in my room with some supplies for a while once I'm back...I don't know how anything is going to work again.

Here's a cross section of everything I've done this summer.

I've tried to show timelines for my gifs (as it's kinda hard to print out animation) and the process of deconstructing an image through compression. I will make notes on all of these things when I get everything sorted. Even though I've spent most of the summer living my Linklater Slacker fantasy online I've actually done quite a lot, which I guess means that I really am at home with digital art.

STOP trying to plan everything. 
If you have an idea, just do it. 
STOP trying to work to a certain "style".
Just produce as much as possible, regardless of quality.
MODERATE LATER.
