Ashkan Honarvar.

Dutch/Iranian collage artist. http://www.ashkanhonarvar.com

I'm impressed by this. I like collage in theory but usually it looks pretty amateur. Of course there was Hanna Hoch but modern attempts at Dadaist collage are embarrassing.

He's also done these, combinations of found hospital film slides, which I wish I'd seen way back in the midst of October.
Hopefully this will help me.

Inspira Blog

http://theeartof.tumblr.com/
Ideas, are coming, but will I follow through this time?

I've given up on trying to do anything "artistic" for a while, after I realised my whole "tirade against humanity" was rather childish and unfocused. I have a sort of focused idea now, it's in it's infancy because I realised it's best not to get carried away without carrying out some sort of research.
And I fully intend to research, eventually...

I just never get around to anything. Apart from my infrequent job and thrice weekly gym visits, all I seem to do is make playlists of forgotten c86-period indie love songs and post shit on tumblr.

I need to have some sort of life to inspire me, and this isn't it. I'm spending days just staring into space and drawing shitty cartoons, I feel like I'm wasting my summer. I want to have something decent to show when I get back in September.

Nick Cave part 2

The other day I was rattling on about our old mustached friend Nick Cave, well I had no idea we had an artist talk at uni today.
Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard do what they call "live art" which I guess is performance or video art with a leaning towards a live music feel. Amongst other things they got a Smiths tribute band to play in the Institute of Contemporary art.

At the end of the talk they mentioned that they made all the videos for Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!. What a coincidence! I was a bit in awe, I'm kinda glad I was sat on my own.

They're also producing documentaries to coincide with the re-release of a lot of the Bad Seeds back catalouge.
It's always kinda weird to see other people doing things you wish you were doing. Oh well!

They also did something on the Jesus and Mary Chain. Excellent!

Inspiration.

In coming weeks or days, I will post more drawings (once I remember which folder I put them). I also figure I should post more about the things which inspire me, rather than just bragging about my own work... Ha ha.

http://4mmc.tumblr.com/ is my tumblr of images but no-one takes tumblr seriously. So I'll post things here instead.
