animation

Somewhere in my quest for the ultimate form of low brow digital art I decided to try out some animated gifs. I have produced many of these over recent weeks, most of them merely experimental and un-noteworthy.
Part of what interests me about the Graphics Interchange Format is the range of effects available through compression and colour shifting (at least with CS5).

I'm not exactly sure what I'm trying to achieve here apart from maybe causing some epileptic siezures... I wanted to experiment with abstraction throght compression. All I've changed with these images is the colour and then reduced the output quality.

I also wanted to use animation as another dimension to my 3D shapes.

Sketchup also offers the option to export video which I am interested in, I have the idea of developing these into something cinematic but that needs more thought.

And finally...I guess this is stop motion

I'm always frustrated that y photos never quite capture things the way I see them. Maybe this is the next step although it does need some work. All this time I'm thinking more and more about video, something which I often find contrived as an art form...We shall see. I'm starting to wish I'd taken up that Video and Sound art module for this year but then again I am also interested in transcription in fine art.
We shall see.
